Cuomo Quoted as Opposing Increase in Judges Retirement Age

In a report aired two weeks ago, NY1 quoted Governor Andrew Cuomo as saying that he opposes the constitutional amendment to raise the mandatory retirement age for Supreme Court justices and Court of Appeals judges to age 80 from 70. The amendment will be on the ballot on Nov. 5. Passage is required in two successive years for the measure to become law.

The report was aired on Wednesday Oct. 2.

I’m not particularly fond of self-seeking Andrew Cuomo, but I am taken aback by his resisting of the increase in the retirement age of Supreme Court justices and Court of Appeals judges.
A bold stroke, Andrew, that proves that beneath it all you may indeed be the Lone Ranger.
